Catching Up

Will I ever catch up? Life just keeps on going, faster and faster sometimes. So I guess I am not going to catch up and have to start fresh for this week or last. Then I can back track when we have time.

So I will just start back on Wednesday of last week it was Kendrick's first 1st grade Field trip to Granite Flats, that is up American Fork Canyon. I signed up to go, only 4 parents could go per class, so I thought I could make that happen. So off we go, Kale was going to Jan's to play until Chelsey could come down and get him and Makenna. Kale cried the entire time, oh my! Makenna was at school and was just fine, first time all year she hasn't asked the teacher when is my mom coming to get me (I guess because she knew her mom wasn't coming to get her). So thanks to Jan and Chelsey for watching the kids while I went to be tested. We loaded on the bus and headed up the road, I was instantly thinking why didn't I go get a Diet Coke this morning, there is no way I am going to make it all day. It was sooooo noisy and I had the most annoying girl in my group sitting right next to me. I though I was going to scream! Kendrick kept me happy though. We got there and heard a message from the Forest Service guy and then Smokey the Bear came to visit. It was fun to see all the kids play with him. Then we got to go on a HIKE. I had 6 kids in my group that I was in charge of in the forest for 2 hours. Our mission was to gather leaves, rocks, sticks, pine cones, anything they could fit in a Zip Lock bag. So off we went, I thought we can hike through the trees why stay on the main road. WRONG! Next thing I heard was a girl screaming at the top of her lungs I ran up to see what it was and she had walked into a swarm of BEES! I was pulling them off of her and pushing the other kids to run along she got stung on both ears, her cheeks and nose. I got stung on my thumb and cheek. Oh, it was bad, I had the rest of the kids to try to keep under control while I one out of her mind. So we followed the road back to the bus where the teacher was and passed her off to the teacher. What a great first impression on the teacher and the kids. Anyway we went back to hiking now more aware than ever of what was around us. Then we had school sack lunch - what an experience. Then off to play games a bunch of different ones it was fun. Then on to the bus again for a windey ride home. As soon as we got to the school I said to Kendrick ok, lets go. He said where I said the Mug Store NOW! He was ready too. It was a fun trip but not one I want to go on again real soon.

Thursday was a day to just veg and no nothing but ending up doing somethings I think kind of a blur. Cade called and said I had to do a Tupperware Party in his office first thing the next morning. So I spent part of the day stressing about that. Then we went and picked up my old bed from Brittney she was done with it so we set it up for Kendrick. Its a tall and heavy metal frame. Makenna really wanted to sleep with Kendrick in it. I was afraid they would both fall out. So we talked about it for a couple more days. But its fun to see that old bed again. Kendrick loves it. Oh, and I canned peaches too.

Friday Morning started out real good. Got the bathrooms cleaned before the kids woke up. Got everyone ready all cute for the day. Makenna was eating her cookies and milk and of course of all days to spill. CRASH!! all over her and the kitchen floor. I didn't have time for that and really didn't want make every ones day bad so I tried to keep it together. Makenna didn't want to wear anything else but the skirt she had on so I had to wash it real quick and tried to dry it in 3 minutes before we had to leave. Then the floor oh my! What a mess. We made it and it was fine. Don't cry over spilled milk. That just kept going through my mind. So off we were to the Tupperware Party, kids and stuff in tow. We got there and set up. I made salsa for all of the office I think I fed about 50 people. We made 3 batches and that still wasn't enough. I sold lots of stuff so it was a good day. We headed home to get here before Kendrick was home from school then I was off for a girls night out with Cameo. We went shopping at Ross spent 5 hours there and then dinner at Cafe Rio - oh that was good. Then we went to the Scrapbook Expo. It was so fun. So nice to get away from everything for awhile. Thanks Cade for letting me go and for taking the kids to the Elders Quorm Dinner alone. Thanks Cameo for taking me out.

So Saturday started with making Raspberry Jam. I haven't done that before but it turned out really good. Kind of excited about that. In the mess of all of that, the neighbor kid came over and was throwing peaches all of in the walk out basement entry. What a mess. I couldn't be too mad because I was too busy to stop him but also had no idea he had even done that. We played the rest of the day and then went out to dinner it was fun to go out with the kids. Taco Amigo we love that place.

Sunday was just another day, church at 11:00 is kind of different. This was Kale's second week in Nursery. He didn't stay, they said he cried until he was purple. . well that is normal for him. Anyway we will keep trying to get him to stay. If he could just have a nap before I think he would be fine. Just way to tired.

Monday started off with more canning Cameo and I did Pears. We did a bushel of them and got 34 quarts. They all sealed so that is a happy day. Makenna didn't have school because her teacher was sick so her and Kate played all day long and had a great time. Then off to Gymnastics at the Rec. Center. I think the kids are really liking it. They didn't like to stretch because it hurts the backs of your legs. But after Monday Makenna said it was really fun and I like to stretch. So we are making major progress. We went on a walk last night and we all had to wear a jacket. That is kind of fun but sad at the same time. The summer is gone! We have had a lot of fun this summer.

So today is Tuesday - we slept in until 8:00 nobody woke up. Kendick was going to ride his bike to school with the other kids in the neighborhood so it was easy to just take it slow today. We did some house work, played and didn't lots of nothing. Makenna has a make up day for school and Kale has been asleep for 4 hours so its nice and quiet around here.

What a boring life we lead nothing fun. Guess we better change it up a little.

Harward Cousin Camp

So the kids attended Cousin Camp at the Slacks this summer. The event started Sunday Night with an ice cream social and crafts. Then Monday was crafts, a picnic at the park and a hike up to the Water Falls. Later that night was dinner, crafts and a talent show and making humanitarian kits. It was a day full of activities. Then on Tuesday we went to the Care Center and sang a few songs and gave each of the people there a gift that the kids had made. It was so fun. The kids all had a blast. For the talent show Kendrick did a back flip on the Tramp and did some jumps on his bike. He was getting to BIG AIR! He had fun. Makenna danced with Kate and Hannah, she also did some tricks on the tramp. She had a routine all figured out on the Monkey Bars then got scared. The kids had decided they wanted special music for their parts, Kendrick wanted I Can Ride My Bike With No Handlebars, by the Flobots and Makenna wanted GLAMOROUS by Fergie. It was cute. then on Tuesday afternoon we went to Seven Peaks! What a great time we all had there. Cade took the afternoon off and came to play with us. The 3 days of cousin camp where a ton of fun. Thanks to Cameo and Jason for putting the event on for us.

This is a picture of all the Cousins who attended cousin camp. Sharay, Mason, Rachel, Makayla, Zoe, Kendrick, Reed, Hayden, Makenna, Hannah, Kate, Kale, Preslie, and Brady

This is at the Water Fall that we all hiked up to. It was really cold water but Kale didn't seem to mind.

Sharay, Rachel and Makayla singing under the Water Fall.

Makenna got brave and stood in the water for a minute.

This is Kendrick taking the jump for the Talent Show, he was getting some "Sick Air"

The Girls loved dancing.

Even Uncle Cade (Dad) took a turn at the Talent Show, he sang "There Goes My Life" By Kenny Chesney we all helped him out a little bit, what a good sport.

Reed and Makenna took at break at Seven Peaks for some string cheese and other snacks.

Kale had to take a break from the water for awhile due to a messy diaper! He had a blast.

We can't wait for Cousin Camp 2009! The kids talk about it all the time, they remember the songs, the crafts, things the kids said and did. What great memories. Makenna is still singing the Camp Song that Chelsey helped make up. I can only remeber bits and pieces, so for journal sake I will give it a shot.
The Boys slept on the tramp, the Girls slept on the lawn and sang a funny song. Cousin Camp, Cousin Camp we love Cousin Camp. Sharay make a turtle and named hers Murtal, Mason caught a fish and made a little wish, Cousin Camp, Cousin Camp we Love Cousin Camp. . . . I can't remember the rest but it was cute.
Thanks to all who made this a great memory for our family.

The Dunn's Daily Not So Daily

Gosh it seems like forever since I have posted anything and come to think of it has been forever. The Dunn's Daily is not so daily at posting. Life just keeps on going wether I not I get around to posting anything. But I am going to make a challenge with myself to get caught up on this blog this week. I can't use anymore excuses, well I can but I really am going to work on it and still keep up on the rest of the house and life. Not sure where to begin but I will take a good look at our life over the last 3 or 4 months and get it posted on here.

The kids start Gymnastics tomorrow at the new Pleasant Grove Rec Center so that should be exciting. I will post on that soon.

No Binkie . . . . . .

For a minute. Is seems like every picture we take of this cute kid he has a plug in his mouth. He really doesn't always have it in, just most of the time. I think it's just a security thing for him, I can't say blanket because he always has that with him too. What a kid.

Swim Lesson

Well swimming lessons went pretty well this year. Lots better than last year I will say that. Kendrick had a great time and really learned a lot. Makenna had a rough few days, she cried and cried until I was ready to cry myself. I did a little bit of bribing. I told her one day we could go to Wendy's and eat if she didn't cry. She did really good and held it together. The next day I told her we could get a Snow Shack if she didn't cry and again she didn't. By the third day she was just fine. So we finished the session and I hope she learned something too.

Our Summer Fun

We have gone to a few parades this summer. Strawberry Days, Richfield's 4th of July, and St. Anthony's 24th of July this kids love it. They have fun chasing all that candy. This year they decided to have a sell out in front of our house. They sold the candy they caught at the parade. The had a great time and could figure out 1 penny for 1 candy.

We have spent lots of time at the lake. This year Kendrick and Makenna have waterskied. They had fun. Kendrick wants to go everyday. Makenna isn't sure she wants to do it again right away but it was fun to see them out there for a change.

Coach Cade and Kendrick played coach pitch baseball they both had a lot of fun coaching and playing. Makenna and Kale did pretty good most of the time watching.

The Rodeo

We always go to the Strawberry Day's Rodeo if not for the entertainment for the Strawberries and Cream, they are so good. This year Kendrick really wanted to do the Muttin Bustin, Cade took him down early to see if they could get him on the list and sure enough they did but then right before it started he decided he didn't want to do that. We had a great time watching all of the events, Muttin Bustin, Wild Cow Milking, Cash Cow, and of course the rest of the Rodeo. The half time entertainment was the favorite. It was 2 guys with their Motorcycles and 2 big ramps. They would jump back and forth and do back flips. It was really cool. Kendrick was in heaven. We had a great time as always.

Strawberry Days

It was Strawberry Days in Pleasant Grove the week of June 16-21st we haven't usually done much but go to the Rodeo. So this year we decided to walk in the Children's Parade. We walked with our ward which had us all wear Red Shirts with a sign that showed where we came from, trying to show that all road lead us to Strawberry Day's in Pleasant Grove. We had a map from Idaho and Utah with a Potatoe and a Turkey that lead to Pleasant Grove with Strawberries. The kids helped make them and had fun. But the Parade was so HOT! We won't be doing that again. The kids were all mad before the parade even started it was just too hot. The photos are right when we got out of the car so they are still excited.

Catching Up

So it has been soooooo long since I have blogged. I am sure no one is even reading this anymore. Which is fine its just for my own sack. Anyway I will try and back track through the summer now that it is almost over.

Has It Really Been Over a Month?

So I just realized it has been long over a month since I posted last. Life has been crazy busy so where do I begin. THIS IS GOING TO BE LLLLOOOONNNNNGGGGG. I will have to post pictures later for some reason I can't get them to load.

On April 18Th which was part of our Spring Break we decided to go camping for a night. I had called the State Parks Hotline and talked to someone who said that Deer Creek was open for camping, GREAT!. So we loaded up and off we went. The kids could hardly wait until we got there. When we arrived we checked in a the Camp Host who said oh, we don't open until May 1st. I didn't know what to think, but the Camp Host said, I will call up to Jordanell and see if they have any spots. They did, so that was great, we didn't fill the water tanks when we left home because we would have full hook ups at Deer Creek, but Jordanell said they has some problems with their water (pipes were frozen). So we filled up and off we went, oh they also told us they would save us a spot and they had just pushed snow off the camp ground that day. We arrived and found we are the only campers in the entire place that I think has 200 camp spots. There was snow on most all the camp ground but a few places and the lake was completely frozen. So we made camp and had a great time. It was still a really nice day we went for a walk, cooked dinner inside the camper (first time) we watched a couple of movies, played games and had a great time. Kale wasn't to sure about the camper and the sleeping arrangements. It was kind of a rough night but by morning he made the Kitchen table is perch. He sat on the table and watched Cade and Kendrick play baseball in the parking lot and ate the pieces to the Matching Game, (I didn't know he had eaten most of the card until the next camping trip). It was a fun trip, one for the memory book.

So then May 1st Kendrick had a Home Work assignment he had to create a habitat for an animal of his choosing. He chose a Cow. He had thought long and hard about what his habitat should have and look like. He put together the ideas, some scrapbook paper, toys, and even ideas from Dad and made a great Cow Habitat. He was so excited to take it to school and knew his would be the best.

Lets just move into the Week of May 18Th. What an adventure! Kale got sick on the May 18Th, Sunday started throwing up, fever, diarrhea, you name it he had it. Monday he continued to be sick, I was in charge of Enrichment on Tuesday and had plenty of running around to do but not with a sick baby. So I called for help. Not really like me but I just couldn't do it. So with the help of the Relief Society President and my good friend I was able to pull off the day. I thought that with a full day of rest Kale would be much better by Tuesday which was Enrichment. It was a Women's Conference with classes on Organization, Family Activities, Tasters Table and a getting to know you display from each sister in the ward. Well we pulled it off not without a ton of help from my committee but Kale as sick the entire time. So then came Wednesday I had a Tupperware Party to do and still had a sick baby. Cade was trying to help the neighbor lady who is a window with her sprinklers and sod project, and get the black trailer ready for Chelsey and Jesse to start moving, Kale hung in there through all of that still sick. So now it's Thursday and we are going to Moab for the weekend. Kale is still throwing up and diarrhea, I called the Doctor and said is this bug really lasting a week, What can I do? Well they told me I needed to bring him in. I asked how soon I could get him in because we are trying to leave town, they said can you be here in 5minutes? Sure, I got there in 3. He had an ear infection, gave us some meds for that and for throwing up and a shot and off we went. The Dr. told me not to fill the prescription until the next day because he would just throw them up anyway, so we where off for Moab. We went to Price Thursday night and planned to stay in the Walmart Parking Lot, that is if there was a Walmart there. We went to McDonalds to eat dinner and before we could order Kale and covered Me, Cade, himself and the floor in vomit. It was and event. Cade asked some teenage boys who looked on and found there is a Walmart in town, GREAT! The kids said so how is fatherhood? I am thinking about it real soon. Cade just laughed and said, some days are just like this. Anyway we had a great night at Walmart and decided to go back to McDonalds for breakfast. We got in the door and same thing happened, we were covered again. So needless to say by the time we got to Moab we had a load of laundry ready to go in. Kale finally got better by Sunday he was his busy self and we really did have a great trip. The kids love to play with their cousins. That is all they could talk about. My Cousins this and My Cousins that. It was fun. Always good food, good company, and good conversation.

May 30Th was Kendricks last day of school, I have pictures to show just how happy he was. He had a great year and learned so much for great teachers. He loved the teachers aid Mrs. Edwards, they have already planned trips to the P.G. Pool together, she was crying on the last day of school because she was going to miss him so much. She is so nice, I think we could be great friends.

We have spent lots of days in the yard playing in the dirt. Kale loves dirt, he much think it tastes good. I just keep letting him eat it. Maybe that is why he was so sick? Third Child for sure!

Kendrick has been busy riding bikes and scooter. The other day he came in and said I can't find my scooter anywhere I gave him the lecture about taking care of your thinks, just thinking he had left it at one of his friends. Well he still couldn't find it 3 days later, I even went looking. So we decided we would go for a family walk around the block I kept my eyes wide open to see if I could see it anywhere sure enough I saw this 14year old boy riding down the road on it. Cade just said Hey! Really loud, this kids was one of his deacons, it kind of scared the kid and then he said, I think that is my boys scooter you are on. The kid didn't know what to say, but said oh, I found it in my front yard. Kendrick was shocked that someone would really steel his scooter. It was a good lesson for him in taking care of his things, and even since then at night everything is back behind the house.

Makenna has spent lots of days in her room playing, she loves to play by herself or with her friends Shaylee, Savannah, or Paige. She loves to cut string into 10million pieces, it keeps her busy but sure makes a mess. She is such a good girl

Kale loves to eat! That kids will sit at the Kitchen counter all day long and eat. He can down a hotdog in just about a minute, he loves pasta, sting cheese. He has found the sand box, when I can't find him I can just look down in the sand and there he is playing so cute.

So this is our crazy life. Cade has been working in the neighborhood lots, he has helps with a ton of Secondary Water Systems, he is now the Ward Mission Leader, and so he stays busy.

I have been busy selling Tupperware. So far it has been good. I also stay busy trying to keep the house somewhat clean, play with the kids and seems like tend lots of other kids in the process. But that is just what life is all about and its worth every little bit of it. I love being home with the kids and wouldn't trade it for anything.

Yes I know but I thought for as much as I use it and love it I just as well sign up to sell it to others and keep getting more for myself. So if anyone is interested in ordering anything or having a party at home, or a book party I would love to help you out. There is a bunch or FREE stuff you get for having a party at home or a book party so let me help you fill your cupboards with good stuff!

Hannah's Birthday

It was Hannah's Birthday last week and we helped decorate her cupcakes and Birthday cake, they both turned out really cute. We went to Jump On It for both Hannah and Reed's birthday and then Chuck E Cheese's the kids had 2 days of fun. I am not sure I can keep up with Birthday Parties that are this fun. Thanks for the good times.

Doing Dishes

Makenna and Kale love to do dishes. They both decided they wanted to get in the sink and help the other night. We started fully clothed and then got a little wet and then a little wetter until we had to shed down to the undies. They both played for about 45 minutes and had a great time. Thanks goodness for Dishes.

Little Hoopsters

Kendrick finished his basketball clinic yesterday and at the Pleasant Grove Rec. Center. It was a four day clinic that was spread out over four weeks. He didn't love it the 3rd time but by the last day he had a better idea of how the game is played and really had a good time.

KENDRICK LOVES GYMNASTICS!

Kendrick just finished his first year of gymnastics. He had a really fun time, some days he really didn't want to go because he would rather stay home and play with Mya his best friend. Be he learned a lot and had a ton of fun. Here are some pictures of his last day. He was always the best at the hanging competitions

Just a Quick Funny

Before I forget this funny thing I have to write it down. The other day Makenna came running in the house holding her pants and just running as fast and she could to the bathroom. She said "I got one honkin" (that means she really needs to poop BAD). It caught me so off guard all I could do was laugh. Cade was laughing his head off with me. She is so funny! I think about it now and still laugh hard. What a cute girl she is but sometimes gets a little bit of her dads crudeness in her. We love her.

April Fools

So I should have posted this yesterday but I was to lazy. The kids and I were talking about April Fools and what that was and meant. Kendrick was all excited about it. He asked about what things I had done, it made me start to think. Back in my Dixie College days we loved April Fools or I should say Kim Blaisdell loved the holiday. We unloaded shampoo bottles, emptied cereal boxes, we turned furniture upside down, we made the fire alarms go off in the middle of the night I remember starting a paper on fire in a pot and then holding it up to the smoke alarm. Then the favorite was to get cotton balls and dip them in chocolate so they looked like real dipped cherry chocolates, we would put them on a plate and take them to the boys we didn't really like. Oh, those were the good ol times. Anyway Kendrick was telling all these things from school "you are stupid mom" I said "what did you say" he said "APRIL FOOLS". So we decided to do one on Cade we put saran wrap on the toilet because the kids know as soon as dad gets home he heads right to the bathroom. Cade was a good sport and Makenna had this cute little giggle like we got you dad. Kendrick was out with his friends when Cade came home but came in the house shortly after and said "did pee go all over the walls?" It was funny, anyway we tried to make it a fun April Fools day.

HAPPY EASTER

On Saturday we went on the annual Easter Pic Nic, it was a beautiful day no snow or rain so that was really nice. The kids had a great time on their treasure hunts and loved their prizes so that was fun. Kale loved rolling the Easter Eggs down the hill, he didn't really want to send the eggs down but after he did he just laughed. He was really cute. It was a great day good food, good company, and lots of fun.

Coloring Easter Eggs

We had so much fun this year coloring our eggs. We used a bunch of crayons and made all kids of designs on them. Kale wasn't too in to the project at all he was to busy unloading the lid basket. Kendrick and Makenna had a lot of fun trying to make the best looking egg. Their favorite eggs where flags, we put stars on one end and then dipped it in blue and left a white strip and dipped the other end in red. Makenna kept her egg and still is packing it around today. We love Easter.

If We Plant It, Will It Grow?

We planted Wheat in our Easter Baskets again this year. We didn't plant it until it might have been too late, but we did it anyway. We planted on March 14, and really wanted to have it ready for the Easter Pic Nic on March 22nd. We planted, watered, and waited to see if it would work. Kendrick and Makenna didn't plant as many seeds this time because we didn't know if we would have enough for everyone. Kale's basket got the most and of course his looked the best. They turned out really cute and the kids had fun watching to see who's was growing the fastest. Happy Easter.

Our Little Shopping/Bag Girl

Makenna, Kale and I all went to Macey's to get groceries on Friday. Makenna helped me unload the car and waited while I put all the groceries away. She wanted all the plastic bags. I was doing some other stuff in the Kitchen and looked over and there she was with every single bag I had loaded with toys, books, clothes, anything she could find. She had loader her own little shopping cart with all of there. She had about 15 bags and something in each one. She is the bag lady, this girl and pack bag after bag, she loves it. I find plastic bags in her room all the time all loaded up. She has found where I keep all my old purses and I will find those loaded every one in awhile. She is such a good girl. She makes me smile all the time. Today she came downstairs and said "Mom I need you to come up in my room quick. You are going to be so mad it is such a mess!" She had this little grin on her face so I followed her up the stairs to her room. She had cleaned it all up. Everything had it place she was so proud, then she said "Mom, I just can't figure out where to put this shopping cart? It's always in the way". Amen to that, I love the cart but goodness it seems to always be in the wrong place. What a girl, we love her.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KALE

Hard to believe that Kale is already 1. We had a great Birthday yesterday March 7. We started the day of singing to him. He just smiled and laughed, he thought it was great. We got to go to lunch with Grandpa and Grandma Harward, Cameo, Reed and Kate. We went to Wendy's, Kale loved the french fries. We hard a Birthday Party with all the family that is close by. Grandpa Kim and Grandma Connie, Perrett's Slack's, Beal's, Brittney and Adam all came. We all ate Bar-B-Que or Sloppy Joes, depends where you grew up and chips, and then had Brownies, Ice Cream and Hot Fudge it was good. Kale ate Hot Dogs, he loves hot dogs and string cheese (we have to limit how many he eats). Kale loved the Birthday Cake. He is the only one of our kids who has really played in the cake on their first birthday. He had a little bit of help from Grandpa but he loved it. He was mad when I took him away from it. What a mess he was. It was a really fun day, helps to have a fun baby. It really is hard to believe we has been here for a year, it seems like we have had him forever but at the same time it seems like we just had him. He is a boy of 7's. Born March 7, 2007, at 7:57am and weighed 7lb 7oz. I hope 7 will always be his lucky number. Happy Birthday Kale, We Love You.
